Emergency Relief Action
Situation Report
Balochistan is facing the most horrible famine of history
ill fated hopeless people are migrating, burying households, leaving behind dead cattle,
to unknown destinations. There is no proper rainfall for last three years, so no proper
crops, no fodder for cattle, sheep, goats and camels are dying by hunger. Water resorts
are dried, under ground water level had gone below 800 ft which was at 80 ft some years
ago. In CHAGAI thousands of helpless people may die by thirst and hunger in two or three
days, urgent action is needed in Chagai. Volunteers are bringing suffered people to Noshki
and Mal from the surrounding area of about 450 km. In the area of (Noshki to Mal 30km)
there is enough water and through emergency relief camps these people can be survived.
Unfortunately in the relief camps there is extreme shortage of food and medicines. Local
people who are poor themselves are contributing their food items but it is negligible
according to the needs.
