Drought Relapse in Arenji Balochistan Second fatal round of drought has captured Arenji in district Khuzdar. Till today 37 died, hundreds are serious due to thirst and hunger. Arenji is hard mountainous area with no infrastructure. To some places 4x4 vehicles can reach but in interior camels or donkeys can reach only. Total population is 35000. Area is about 600sq.km. Govt. or other organizations have provided no relief yet. If situation continues all will die. It is a serious stage of accountability for govt. and UN organizations claiming activities and heavy budgets to overcome drought in Balochistan for last three years. They have to look back towards their policies, priorities, strategies and speed!

There is a strong need of emergency relief activities in Arenji urgently. Gidan Base Camp for food and medical relief is starting work from Jan.02, 2003 in Awak, Arenji with collaboration of Mengal Trust and Bibi Rabia Khuzdari development society. Your donations are welcome. All relief organizations will be facilitated to set up their own stalls in the camp.
